Last Day! Great Kmart Offers!

This is the content of an email that went out to my Personal Shopper Clients this morning. Join now to be notified first!

“Good morning,

I thought I’d try to share this information via email before I post it to the website (www.unveiledsavings.com). If you don’t want to receive deals like this via email, please let me know and I’ll be sure to remove you from the distribution list.

Today I’ll show you…$5 giant jugs of detergent, $6 for a folding table and chairs, $3.25 athletic tshirts…

I am going to populate three catalogs for the three Kmart deals listed below, but wanted to get this out ASAP to give you a chance to shop. Remember – you want to go to kmart.com and be sure to only shop for Kmart items (not Sears!) You can find the catalogs here: http://www.shopyourway.com/people/christine-g/3248992/catalogs

First promotion is for Arm & Hammer Detergent at Target

Two promotions currently stack at Target:

  • $15 off $50 on cleaning supplies with code “CLEAN” – a great deal by itself, amounting for 30% off!
  • $5 gift card with the purchase of two participating Arm & Hammer products – http://www.target.com/pl/504604870

If you purchase six of the detergents ($8 x 6) that’s $48. Add a filler item (I added dryer sheets for $5 though I could have found something closer to $2) the math looks like this:

  • Detergent, $48
  • Dryer Sheets, $5
  • Cost: $53
  • CLEAN: -$15
  • Discounted Total: $45
  • Receive three $5 Gift Cards

You will spend $45 and receive $15 back for future shopping. For $30, you’ll have a ton of detergent and dryer sheets (or whatever you choose.) Regular price would be $53 or more, depending on which you choose, so this is like a 40% discount.

Thanks to my friend Cassidy for finding this great promotion!

Second promotion is for Furniture at Kmart

This may be the last day, but Kmart is offering 50% back in points, up to 100,000 points, on furniture plus a few other great offers. There are a few deals that stack, so here’s how it works out:

  • 10% off $50+ with code “NEWYEAR”
  • $10 back in points on $30 or $20 back on $50
  • 50% back in points up to $100 worth of points

Here’s an item that qualifies for the points promotion but not the 10% off.

My total is $54.99 and I will receive $49.14 back in points!

http://www.kmart.com/essential-home-5-piece-card-table-and-chairs/p-00893176000P

If you find an item that will make your total $50 or more, you can use the $5 off $50 at Kmart coupon (click your name, go to my clipped coupons, and find it there…or let me know and I will send you one via the Personal Shopper site). **NOTE** If you use it on this item, you will only qualify for the $10 back on $30.

Third promotion is for Athletic Apparel at Kmart

Combine the following two offers for essentially 75% back on up to $100 worth of athletic apparel:

  • $10 back on $20, up to $50 worth
  • Buy one, get one free

Here’s an item that qualifies. I bought four at $10.99 each, but with the buy one get one…that’s only $21. I will receive $10 back in points, which is like paying $11 for four tshirts that were each $11 to to start with!

Fourth promotion is for Clearance Apparel at Kmart

Tricky to find anything in stock, but you’ll get $15 back on each $15 you spent at Kmart on clearance apparel. Here’s the link to clearance.

It appears that adding up to $15 qualifies. The limit is $50 worth of points (50,000). I found that this item qualifies – if I add three to my cart for a total or $18, I receive $15 back in points.

What else?

Your best portal promotion (what? Read more here) is probably iconsumer.com, but you can choose from cashbackmonitor.com.

I’ll be available via the Clientele app and email today to help you take advantage of these promotions.

Please feel free to forward my email and ask your pals to choose me as their personal shopper – http://syw.co/1SGiTGp. Have a great weekend – stay warm and good luck with your deal shopping!

Spend $30, Donate Three Pairs of Shoes, Receive $55 in Sears Credit YMMV

It’s a great time of year to be thinking about other people. In this promotion, it’s definitely a win-win: you can donate three pairs of shoes and earn all of your money in store credit (less tax) back PLUS a $25 bonus in Shop Your Way Rewards. Truth be told, I can’t figure out how they get to $55 (the original post said $40 and that made sense) but no complaints here!

The two items that I’m positive are participating are the Batman and Spiderman shoes.

You’ll notice where it says in yellow “Special Offers…” click the drop down to confirm 100% Back in Points plus a $10 bonus when you spend $30.

Simply add three pairs of shoes and you will earn $40 back in points. See how mine says I’ll earn around $10 back in points? That’s because I have already purchased my $30 worth (it’s a once per member deal.) Yours should show $40! (Edit: I don’t know why it is $55, but yahoo!)

Your points are valid 12/12-12/18 only. Don’t forget to use them! If you don’t have a Sears or Kmart nearby, consider stocking up on paper towels, garbage bags, or other consumables and having them delivered right to your door; shipping is free on $30 purchases. Perfect, right?

If you don’t have time to pick up and donate or don’t have a Sears/Kmart nearby, you can choose “Pick Up In Store” and use Fort Walton Beach, FL (zip code 32548). Use “Unveiled Savings” as the name of the person picking up your order and email me when it’s ready. It would be my privilege to help you participate in this deal.

Happy Holidays!!!!

Make the Deal Better for You

Choose a shopping portal (a what?) to get a little bonus when you shop.

Make the Deal Better for Me…and You, Too!

If you like this kind of promotion, considering adding me as your personal shopper, which is a one-time, 60-second activity. I’ll be able to send you a bonus coupon for $5 off $25, which should work with this promotion.

Yes, Sears pays me a commission, which helps cover the expenses of the site.

Wondering if this deal is really about the shoes? The most Sears will pay me is $0.90. You decide.

Help Homeless Pets for Free (After Points)

Kmart is running a promotion (expiration date unknown) for $5 back in points on a $5 purchase from the Home department.

$5 Promotion at Kmart

If you want, you can certainly go ahead and choose $5 worth of products for your own home. That would be smart. But it might cost you a couple dollars in shipping, so opt for an in-store pickup when you add merchandise to your cart.

If you’d like to help with the donation project, here’s a way to give a shelter animal a gift.

  • Start at cashbackmonitor.com for a couple bonus points through the portal of your choice (read about portals here)
  • Pick one or two of the blankets from this catalog (spend $5 minimum)
  • Use code “CYBER” to get 10% off and a 5,000 point bonus in Shop Your Way Rewards worth $5.

Feel free to donate to your local shelter (either ship to your home, ship directly to the local shelter, or use in store pickup – whichever you prefer.) If the shipping costs are prohibitive or you don’t have a store, feel free to use the Fort Walton Beach, FL store and I will be so happy to pick up your order and donate it on your behalf. Just put “Unveiled Savings” when it asks who’s picking up your order and email me a heads-up.

If you’re wondering what to do with your $5, keep in mind that most Kmart stores carry tons of consumables – groceries, paper products, toiletries. Shop Your Way Rewards even offers coupons for these products.

Don’t hesitate to comment or contact me with any questions you have. I’d love to go pick up 100 fuzzy blankets for our four legged friends.

From me and my rescue mutts to you and yours…happy holidays!

PS If you’re interested in hearing about these offers, receiving coupons directly to your Shop Your Way account or email, and personalized money-saving opportunities, please add me as your Personal Shopper. Disclosure: Sears pays me a 1% commission – thank you in advance!

Massive 100% Back in Points, In Store Only – YMMV

While I was waiting on my $4.99 Sears oil change and tire rotation (VIP Platinum perks!!) I was surprised to see the Craftsman Bolt On Attachments with a “100% Back in Points” sign. I asked an employee if the promotion was current. From my previous post, these were 100% Back in Points online…now, they appear to be 100% Back in Points in-store. Your store’s promotions may vary significantly, so I apologize in advance if I get your hopes up and your store isn’t participating.

With this finding, I asked if there were any other 100% Back in Points promotions going on. I was told ‘yes’ and passed around a few employees who were all very willing to help find what the offers. Three employees later, I was shown a 22 page (!!!!) spreadsheet listing items that were all 100% Back in Points. This promotion began 11/30 and runs through December, but very few of the items were tagged on their shelves. I took a handful of photos of the categories I was interested in, rather than drag the employee around the store with the list, and started hunting. An hour later, I had accumulated around $275 worth of products that were all 100% Back in Points. Note that many of the items had small blue square “100% Back in Points” tags, so be on the lookout. Here are a few hasty photos of my treasures:

Sears Blue Hangtag

img_0154
Free Garden Tools
Sears 100% Back in Points
Free Kitchen Products
Sears 100% Back in Points
Free Extension Cords

There were items everywhere! Here’s a list which is at least partly available in the catalog here:

  • dish and bath towels
  • Libby glassware
  • Butter dishes, salt and pepper shakers, square bowls and serving trays
  • Pyrex baking dish
  • Kenmore loaf pan, kitchen tools, Oxo kitchen tools, french fry basket (heehee)
  • Craftsman garden tools
  • Air fresheners
  • Dazzle jewelry cleaner
  • Neoprene hand weighs
  • extension cords
  • LED flashlights
  • Pillow cases and twin sheet sets
  • Shoelaces and insoles
  • Pool and table tennis accessories
  • Spark plugs (and things that don’t make sense to me)
  • Bike accessories
  • Yoga products

I expect that all items will be marked in the next day or so, but you may have some luck checking in with a friendly Sears employee.

Important details:

  • Offer valid 11/30/2017-12/30/2017.
  • Points probably do not roll, but good luck if you try!
  • Points are valid for 30 days.
  • There does not appear to be a spending cap – my $275 purchase resulted in $285 worth of points (thanks, Sears!)

What do I do with all of these points?

If you’re wondering what to do with all of those points, remember that they have an extensive auto center. Sears and Kmart are affiliates, so you can do your grocery shopping for a few weeks and use up those points. I like to order consumables (paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, garbage bags, etc.) At the very least, consider this a “buy one, get one” promotion – if you buy one $5 item and get 100% back in points, you can go spend that $5 in points on a second item. That’s two $5 items ($10 value) for only $5. Not that you will generally not earn points on a purchase that is paid for with points!

Can I save even more on this purchase?

Before you go…for the latest on great promotions, please consider selecting me as your personal shopper. I’ll send you coupons that can make this deal even better – such as a $15 off $150 purchase, which sweetens the deal! Plus, you’ll help me earn a very (itty bitty) commission, which helps cover the costs of running this site. I appreciate it! I’ll help you load coupons to your account if you don’t already know how to do that (there are directions around the blog, but the short version…go to shopyourway.com, click “Rewards” then “Coupons” and start loading!)

Don’t forget – if you have an American Express card, check out your offers for a $10 back on $50 purchase. You’ll get the $10 credit on your account plus all $50 back in points!

Any luck?

Did your store have any great promotions going on? What did you find?

Craftsman Tools, Better-Than-Free After Points!

I love these deals!

I’ve added all of the items that are free after points to this catalog (please consider adding me as your personal shopper – I’ll earn a 2% commission on your purchase from Sears, which is such a nice way for you to give me a thumbs up on this deal.)

Here’s how it adds up:

Total Price: ~$450

SYWR Points Earned: ~$480

Coupons Applied: $20 off $150 and $20 in surprise points

You can make the deal better by starting at cashbackmonitor.com and picking a portal to shop through. I was unable to redeem gift cards on this purchase without severely reducing the cash back…this doesn’t make any sense and 45 minutes on the phone with customer service didn’t get me anywhere. I shopped through British Airways as we are in the midst of planning a spring vacation and paid with my Discover card to earn 5% back with the category bonus (don’t forget to activate this perk!) You should be able to count this as an additional $25 in savings.

What am I going to do with the points I received?

I’m going to buy the main body of this tool, which is currently on sale for $80. I might order some consumables – garbage bags, laundry detergent, etc – from Kmart. Or, I’ll just shop around for items to sell on Amazon/eBay/craigslist (I’ll share what I find.) We also recently purchased shelving units for about $45 and are looking for a few more, I need an iPad mini for my drone, and we’re hoping to pick up an end-of-season clearance set of patio furniture. I guess that’s the great thing about Sears and Kmart – we’re always finding something the house needs.

I don’t need this stuff!

These items appear to be popular on eBay and Amazon. You can likely sell them for ~$200, plus Sears is going to give you more store credit back than you spent in the first place. You could also donate the whole kit and write it off. At the very least, it’s an easy $500 on your credit card and the cash back can be used on almost anything at Sears/Kmart.

Good luck!

Free (After Points) Headphones Etc At Sears!

They keep saying there aren’t any good deals at Sears…that’s because “they” aren’t using Unveiled Savings as their personal shopper!

If you buy the items pictured below, you’ll get them ‘free after points.’ This means you’ll pay the ~$75 out of pocket and receive back the equivalent of ~$75 in points. You’ll need to use three promotions, which should automatically be added to your cart if you are a Shop Your Way member. A chat representative will be able to provide coupon codes if you need them. In the interest of time, I’ll leave you to search for those deals on your own (from Sears.com, hover over “Your Account” then “Your Clipped Coupons” and/or go to shopyourway.com, hover over “Rewards” and click “Coupons.”)

Item Numbers 05750096000, 05727219000, 05737562000, 05727220000 (in no particular order) – for your convenience, I’ve made a catalog so you can add them directly to your cart (plus you’ll have to manually add the TV Cleaning Kit):

Easy Bonus – United MileagePlus Miles or 15% Cashback at Sears

Here is a classic example of stacking promotions and taking a little risk regarding the fine print. You probably know I have recently become a major Sears shopper in the last few months (a personal shopper, if I may…maybe you would like to be my client?) and I have been profiting every time I sit down in front of my computer. I made over $125 in about an hour just recently.

United MileagePlus is offering a 1,000 point bonus on a $250 purchase. Sears happens to be a participating retailer…and the fine print indicates that gift cards are eligible for point earning until July 9 at a current increased rate of 4 points per dollar. However, you can not earn points when you redeem gift cards. Incidentally, the wording via Splender is the same but opposite at Ebates. Confused? Step by step, here’s how to maximize this offer…despite the fine print regarding the 1,000 point bonus saying that gift cards are not eligible, I am betting it will come through.

Step 1: Start at MileagePlus Shopping

searsbonus

Step 2: Purchase a $250 Gift Card at Sears (or Reload One for Faster Service)

searsgc

In completing Step 1 and Step 2, you will earn the 1,000 point bonus (assuming my risk pays off) PLUS 4 points per dollar – or another 1,000 points on your $250 purchase. This is a total of 2,000 points or 8 points per dollar. While this type of offer comes around a few times a year, I’m happy to take advantage of it. Why? Because then…

Step 3: Navigate to Sears by Way of Ebates and Pay With Your Gift Cards

Since the Ebates terms do not restrict the earning of points on purchases paid for with gift cards, we should be safe here and take the 6% return they currently offer. Not an Ebates member? Please use my link – there is still time to earn a $50 bonus, which you can read about here.

Don’t forget to check your Shop Your Way page for loadable coupons – either for percentage or dollars off, cash back offers, or surprise points.

Step 4: Consider Loading Up via Splender

Splender (I’m a new user) is offering 9% back at Sears and also pays on gift card purchases until July 9th. So, beyond the $250 needed to trigger the United bonus, I am purchasing my gift cards through Splender and redeeming them through Ebates. This triggers a 15% total discount (or cash back) on top of any other sales or promotions you may find.

If you don’t care to get the 2,000 United MileagePlus points, you can skip right to Step 4 for purchasing gift cards and back to Step 3 for redeeming them.

A Quick Summary and Example

Via MileagePlus Shopping and Ebates

  • If you purchase a $250 gift card by way of MileagePlus Shopping, you will earn 2,000 points.
  • If you spend the $250 gift card by way of Ebates, you will earn $15.
    • This means that your regular old $250 purchase is worth a bonus 2,000 MileagePlus miles and $15 in cashback. I value those miles at a minimum of $20!

Via Splender and Ebates

  • If you purchase a $250 gift card by way of Splender, you will earn $22.50.
  • If you spend the $250 gift card by way of Ebates, you will earn $15.
    • This means that your regular old $250 purchase is worth $37.50 in cashback.

Will you take advantage of this offer?

I am constantly finding ways to manufacture spend at Sears – I might even make it to Platinum status in July! I have no hesitation in purchasing Sears gift cards during this offer.

Will you purchase through Splender and Ebates or MileagePlus Shopping and Ebates? Leave a comment!

How this Pertains to your Wedding

Nope, nothing ground-breaking here. As usual…

  • Buy gifts at Sears for your parents, wedding party, future spouse, etc.
  • Buy and sell items to manufacture spend on a credit card you’re using for your free honeymoon
  • Outfit your new home at Sears if the price is right
  • Purchase linens, decorations, etc for any of your wedding events (showers, centerpieces, etc)
  • Find bridesmaid dresses and accessories or suits and accouterments for the gentlemen

How I Made $69 in Less Time Than it Took to Write This Post

The world of e-commerce is vast. All you have to do is find an item here and there that is on sale. Hopefully, you can make that sale even better by earning (or redeeming) some form of store loyalty credit, adding a great portal bonus, and paying with a discounted gift card. Please the Rules of Engagement if you aren’t clear on that process. What does this have to do with your wedding? Not a whole lot, unless you, like everyone else on the planet, could use a couple extra bucks, have a father or other men in your life that will be gift recipients, or you opened credit cards to get a free honeymoon and need to meet the spend minimum.

Here is today’s example of making $69 in a matter of minutes (even if it took an hour, isn’t that pretty good?):

Sears is selling an impact wrench (I don’t even know what that is) for 50% off. I’ve added it to my Best Deals catalog. (Hint hint: you should really add me as your personal shopper so you don’t miss out on these offers…there are other great products in that catalog that you can make some money on, too!) Add in tax and my total was $132.80.

wrench

Turns out Amazon sells this product for just under the normal retail – $237.49. It is ranked around the 250,000 mark in Home Improvement, which is good enough for me. The fees look to be around 15%, but for the sake of argument…I’ll call it $40 if I sell the item for $200. I should be able to sell it for $225 and the fees will be less than that, but let’s stick with easy numbers and plenty of margin.

A quick scan through the Sears Deals Center shows a nice $10 back in Shop Your Way Rewards on $100 in tools. Free points!

Ebates is offering 6% cashback (and you should totally be using Ebates and referring people to it while they’re offering a $50 bonus! Yes, that last link helps sort out the details.) Fantastic. 6% on $125 is $7.50. Don’t calculate on tax.

Icing on the cake here…I have a small stash of Sears gift cards that I received in exchange for Discover cash back. $20 worth of Discover cash gets me $25 worth of Sears credit – so $80 worth of Discover cash gets me $100 worth of Sears credit. Not bad, right? On a $125 purchase, I am saving $20 + $5 = $25 (there’s some common core math for you…20% of $100 = $20. 20% of $25 = $5. $20 + $5 = $25.)

  • If you don’t maintain a stash of Sears gift cards…well, you can reload a gift card from the Sears site (which you navigate to by way of Ebates) – you’ll still get the 6% back. In this case, then, instead of a $25 savings, you’ll get a $7.50 savings. Be sure to call Sears right away to get them to process the reload transaction at 888-396-5299.)

Final Tally:

Purchase Price: – $132.80

Amazon Expected Sales Price: $200

Amazon Worst-Case Fees: – $40

Sears SYWR: $10 (hey, they’re also giving me $1 for accepting a one-day slower delivery…fine by me)

Ebates Cashback: $7.50

Gift Card Discount: $25

= -$132.80 + 200 – 40 + 10 + 7.50 + 25 = $69.70 (note that this will be $52.20 if you go through Ebates)

Heck, I think I’ll buy two…

What does this have to do with wedding planning?

As with many of my posts, here’s the list of reasons this is relevant:

  1. You opened a credit card and need to meet a spend threshold to earn a sign up bonus. Do not spend money for the sake of this bonus – spend what you need to spend…and make up the difference on creative “manufactured spend” like this.
  2. You need a couple bucks to cover this that and the next thing. Dear reader…wouldn’t an extra $69 cover at least an elaborate mani/pedi? YES! How about your rehearsal dinner dress? A gift for a member of your wedding party? This is money in your pocket to spend on whatever expenses aren’t yet covered. Else, use it to pay down your debt!
  3. You need gifts for the men in your life – your dad, brother, fiance, groomsmen, etc etc etc…
  4. You need gifts for a couple in your life – engagement party, wedding gift, etc etc etc…
  5. You happen to need this thing yourself.

Does this help?

Sweepstakes: Drive Strong Truck Sweeps Code List – Enter Over 200 Times!

What’s the prize?

A 39-month lease on a new truck. Weird, huh? This comes from Sears Shop Your Way (which I’ve discussed here most recently.) If you aren’t a member, join! You can always save on your Sears purchase, whether through discounts or with loyalty rewards (Shop Your Way Rewards.) Rewards are redeemable just like cash on purchases at Sears and Kmart – not a bad program! More on that at the very end…

How do I enter?

There are many ways to enter this sweepstakes; you can answer a few poll questions daily for up to 93 entries, refer friends by grabbing and sharing your unique URL (yep, mine is all over the page,) or enter Sweeps Codes. Let’s be honest – the poll takes a while to load and you don’t need to clog up your feed asking friends to click here and join there. The most efficient way to get a ton of entries with very little work is to use the list of Sweeps Codes I’ve compiled below.

Step One

I’ve compiled the list of Sweeps Codes, posted just below. Simply head on over to the sweepstakes page and click the “Get Started Now” button – do the poll once to activate your entry.

Step Two

Go to the Drive Strong page and start submitting all of the codes listed below; enter right where it says “Sweeps code” and hit GO. You’ll see the codes partitioned by section that says “Updated On” so you don’t try to reuse codes. The website is a little slow; plan on around 15 seconds per entry. You can submit up to 204! That would take around an hour, so I’ll finish mine up over the weekend while we’re cheering on the St. Louis Blues. The entry period runs through June 1st; I’ll post weekly (until I hit ~215 codes) and that should be more efficient for everyone than a daily update!

Are you going to play?

Is it worth the time? I estimate these codes to take roughly one Family Guy episode to enter!

Get my BEST finds while you support Unveiled Savings

I have a Catalog of great sale items from Sears/Kmart – my secret list of resale opportunities. Please let me be your Personal Shopper. You won’t get any emails from me – they’re all on the Shop Your Way site, so you have as much or little exposure to the program as you want. I point you to ideas for bridesmaid gifts, accessories, etc plus sales to help with manufactured spend and credit card minimums while you help me earn a small 2% commission and support the Unveiled Savings website. It costs you nothing and will be completely transparent after you follow this link. (Yes, you can be a Personal Shopper, too!)

Thanks in advance!
